Grandpa, I love you so much. I didn't get to know you as well as everyone else in the family did but the last couple years we had together made things fun. I helped you with all your work when you were trying to get better. Stacking cups. I would sing sweet home Alabama to you. I made you a bird house while you were in the nursing home. I honestly don't know if you would even remember that but I wish you would. You have been my isperation to do better with my life. I remember going out on a boat or swimming in aunt debby's and uncle pauls pool. Or hearing you play the guitar. I miss you grandpa. I know you didn't like tattoo's but I want my whole right shoulder blade covered in a tattoo that will dedicate my memory to you. I hope your proud of me with how hard I'm trying... I know you wouldent want me thinking some of the things that I do. There has been times I wanted to join you up in the sky looking after mom and grandma and the rest of them. I hope your playing with cody and peanut up there grandpa. I love you. Please watch over me in the time I wish I had you hear the most. In the time I need it most. Rest in peace grandpa.

Dad you were the greatest. You and Mom taught us kids how to do a lot of things in life, but the most important lesson in life you both taught us is how to love one another. I would tell people that I have been so lucky to have my parents still together and very much in love after 47 years. I wish I could have done the same, but you do have 3 of your children that have been married for over 20 years, I am sure it has a lot to do with you both. You instilled great morals and values in all of us kids and your grandkids, and we thank you with all our hearts.

To the Meilstrup Family, my heart feels your pain. From what stories I have heard of Jim, he was an amazing person. I didn't know him personally that well, but I knew most of his children, and what wonderful children Jim and Marie raised. Truly a family!!! A family that loves eachother, cares for eachother and loves to spend time with eachother. That is truly what family is. He touched many lives with the music that he so much enjoyed. Music that broght people together and gave them a memory or gave them a desire to learn themselves. You were so loved by Jim / your dad. Hold on to the all of those great memories, the love he shared, the music he shared but most of all, the family he created. He will always be in your heart. Be strong, he is with God who will watch over him now.
With Love & Friendship, Karen, Colton & Karissa Schnake

Uncle Jim,
Hermit Crabs at Rocky Point, Homemade Boats, Snowmobiles, you introduced me to all the gearhead stuff I could imagine. We even traded cars!! I will never forget the music, the big heart, the curly hair and the warm smile. We miss you on earth and look forward to Heaven with you. It just lit up brighter!

Grandpa,
As a person you were one of the brightest, smartest, coolest guys I knew as a kid. You seemed like you could do everything like playing the guitar, to fixing stuff, etc. You were a great grandfather and you meant a lot to me and my family. I'll miss you and the fun times we had together.
Love,
Adam

Jim Jr.,
I know the last year and a half or so has been very tough on you and your family, and on your mother and siblings. Never doubt the strength of your love, understanding, patience, and even laughter that helped guide your Dad towards his highest good and ultimately to his Lord. What a blessing it was for you all to be there together. Your Dad heard every word spoken and every prayer. I know his spirit will be with you all as you gather to celebrate his life. You have been in our thoughts and prayers. From your Newkirk family, Laura Smith

Dad, You touched so many lives, through you love, laughter, and music. Our lives were full, we never lacked anything. I will never forget the day the nurse put Nicole in your unsuspecting hands, the look on your face was priceless. That 31/2 pound little girl fit in the palm of your hands. Ashley inhereted your love of music, I inhereted your eyes. I have learned by watching you and Mom how to fix a toilet, put in a floor, did my first one 3 months ago, do all the minor repairs needed on the house. Ok my floor isn't perfect but it is my first one. I didn't mind all the moving, I rather liked moving around seeing new things meeting new people. You taught me a lot and I love you and will always keep you close to my heart. Marcella

Dad I have so many great memories it is hard to choose just a couple. Going thru your things the other day and finding the jewelery we use to make together from rocks we found and polished together made me feel so loved. Probably what all of us kids, nieces, nephews and friends remember most is your music. I will always cherish the times we spent together around the campfire singing folk music. I've missed you so much this last year and watching you go was the hardest thing I have ever endured, but I am so glad that you are now in peace and do not have to suffer anymore. I will always miss and love you.
