Dad you were my everything. I loved you so much and I appreciated everything you had to offer. I was your little girl and you were my soft place to fall. You taught me so much in life and I couldn't have done it without you.
You use to tease me and say you were up north deer hunting when mom got pregnant with me, and I would say, oh ya! well my father is rich and owns a mansion and a yacht.
When I came home in June I knew in my heart it would be the last time I would see you. I cried all the way home knowing this was true. I only have one regret and that was I wasn't there in time to say goodbye. You never was one to wait. You knew how much I loved you and how I was wrapped around your finger. I couldn't express in words how much I'm going to miss you and your crazy comments or your one liners. All I know is how my heart is missing a piece and won't ever be full again until I see you again.
You would call me and ask about if the hawk got any of the chickens and I would get mad at you because you would say they need to eat too. I am what I am because you and mom gave us the best life you knew how. We never had a lot and that didn't matter one bit. We were a family.
I love you and I'm going to miss you so bad.
Your little girl.

It is hard to believe you are gone already and so soon. I only wished I spent more time with you, especially near the end. There is so much I wanted to tell you that you may have already known but was not said. You helped to make me the person I am today and I am eternally thankful to you. You gave me everything I needed and yet gave me the independence to make my own mistakes and be a strong person. You were a rock and an inspiration to me and I did not admit it until it was too late. I wished I could have a video of our times together - without commercials of course.
I will remember some of your sayings like: "Don't get married, have children or get old" yet you did not heed your own advice and a good thing. I know you did not mean it and was a happy and proud man yet humble. I know you loved mom and all of us. And when you grew older and lonelier without your ole buddies you said "All of my friends are gone now and I think God has forgotten me" which was so hard to hear.
But I will never forget the last words you said to me being "Come see me" on the phone days earlier will be the hardest for me as you slipped away before I could. I should have stayed with you that Sunday morning mom and I helped you back into bed when you fell out and did not say anything. Had I known you'd be gone that Tuesday evening. I believe that you was able to hear me when I held you during your last few breathes of life as I prayed for your salvation and to tell you that I loved you so much. You struggled so to breath and when we finished praying, your breathing normally as if a burden had been lifted from you before you slipped off my assurance that you was ready to be with Him.
I love you dad and will miss you very much.
Your loving #1 son (as you'd say),
Kevin
