Obituary of Phillip Kissinger

Phillip Kissinger, 84, of Bridgman MI. He passed away peacefully at home after a short struggle with cancer on October 19, 2013. He was bon to Daniel and Amelia (Kronschnable) Kissinger on December 29, 1929, in Furstenfeld Bessarabia, which was a German pioneer village. He was the 6th of 8 children. He married Ruth Piekarek on January 30, 1954, in Detroit, MI. They had 4 children. Phillip worked as a Tool & Die Maker for 45 years until he retired. Then he became a gentleman farmer, which he truly loved. He was a life long member of the Seventh-day Adventist church, where his kindness,friendship and love of God were well known. He was preceded in death by his daughter Karyn (Kissinger) Clewell. He is survived by his wife Ruth Kissinger, his children Lenhart and Darla (Allen) Kissinger, Karyn's husband Robert Clewell, William and Barbara (Kissinger) Davis, Donald and Erika (Touchard) Kissinger, grandchildren Karla (Kissinger) Frazee, Kristi Kissinger, Kayla Davis, Michael Davis, Ryan Davis, Samantha Kissinger, Phillip D. Kissinger, and great grandchildren Andrew, Ella, Alaina, and Caden. A memorial service will be held on October 26, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Village Seventh-day Adventist church, located at 635 St. Joseph Avenue, Berrien Springs, MI 49103. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial gift in Phillip's name may be made to the Village SDA church Pathfinder organization.
