That she was like a grandma to me i have know from the time when i was in 6th grad and i am a 10th grader.Marilyn was sweet and nice. i helped her take her paper's to her car. I would staid by her car and talk about every thing.I told her that i was wring in a book and she said that is good to follow my dreams. Now i am about done with it and if it was not for her decision to tell me i could do it . I know i would not finish it. I know that you are in a better place. But i wish i could see your face.I miss you. i rember on her 81 birthday i made her a card with 81 candles on it .It made her smile. TO me you well always by my little hobbit. I sill miss you Marilyn.
LOVE,
Dylan Baldwin

It was with great sadness that I learned of Marilyn's death. I will always remember her from as far back as high school when I became friends with her daughter, Cindy. She was a kind and compassionate woman who always seemed so vigorous and full of life. I never knew anyone who was as personable as Marilyn. She would always chat with you and make you feel at home. She knew my father, and was so very kind to me when he passed away. It was a privilege to consider her a friend.
May you find comfort in your many special memories of her and in the happy years you shared. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with her family members.

My wife and I were privileged to know Marilyn for many years as she delivered our morning papers. She was far more that an anonymous person who delivered papers. There were many mornings at 4:00 or so that I would meet her, in my robe no less. This was occasionally by accident, but sometimes by design. Not too many people are out at that time of the morning and, since I am frequently an early riser, I would listen for her driving by on the southbound leg of her trip in our neighborhood and then watch for the lights coming back north. We had good conversations and it was so nice to talk to the person who gave my morning a good start. My wife spent many hours on the phone with Marilyn. Sometimes the calls were to tell her about a small gift we were leaving for her at special times during the year, sometime to thank her for the baked goodies she left for us, and sometimes just to talk.
We talked to her after she left the Tribune. It was a sad day for us. Perhaps she has found peace in a better place. We will miss her.

My parents were on Marilyn's route, and my father repeatedly would tell me about whenever he was in the yard when she came by she would stop and chat and share stories.
Rickie, you've always been a dear friend and I'm sorry for your as well as your family's loss.

What a pleasure and an honor it has been to know Marilyn for many years. There are none more compassionate and diligent on this earth. She was one of the most responsible and caring people I have ever met. Linda and I were talking about her yesterday. Thank you Marilyn for being such an attribute to our sociaty and showing it in your day to day life . You have been a wonderful neighbor and friend.
