Richard Heckelsberg, 74, of Niles, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side. Richard was born on February 1, 1937 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late William and Iola (Cavolt) Heckelsberg. On December 5, 1955 Richard married the love of his life Beverly Ann (Milner) Heckelsberg at a ceremony in Terre Haute, Indiana. Richard proudly served 4 years in United States Navy. After the military he worked at Honeywell as a Hydraulic Fiter. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Earl Heckelsberg and sister, Rose Frischman. Richard is survived by his wife, three sons, Richard Heckelsberg II of South Bend, Chris Heckelsberg of Elkhart, David Heckelsberg of Arizona, daughter, LaTasha (Jimmie) Ketchum of Niles, three grandchildren, three, great-grandchildren, three, brothers, James Heckelsberg of San Diego, California, Dennis Heckelsberg of Whittier, California, Kenneth (Linda) Heckelsberg of Nebraska, a sister, Virginia Little of Terre Haute, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085 or Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana 46544.
