Obituary of Duane James Nichols

Duane James Nichols, 73, of Hartford, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Duane was born on April 10, 1937 to Donald and Dorothy (Bailey) Nichols in Watervliet, Michigan. Duane was one of three children. After high school Duane joined the United States Marine Corp. where he proudly served his country for two years as a Heavy Equipment Crane Operator in the 7th Engineering Battalion at Camp Pendleton in California. He also earned a Good Conduct Medal upon his honorable discharge. Duane worked for Bosch Corporation and retired after over 40 years of dedicated service. He is preceded in death by his parents. Duane is survived by his daughter Christine (Joseph) Rzanca of Paw Paw, Michigan, three grandchildren Eric Siler, Justin Rzanca and Krista Siler, and two great grandchildren Evan Siler and Jayden Rzanca. Funeral services for Duane will be held at North Shore Memory Gardens on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 2:00 in the afternoon with a time of visitation one hour prior.
