Obituary of Michael Gaertner

Michael Joseph Gaertner, 47, of Niles and previously of Orange Park, Florida, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on July 7, 2017. Michael was born on February 17, 1970, to Robert and Sharon Gaertner in Saginaw, Michigan. After Robert passed Sharon wed George Holmes who was a wonderful stepfather to Michael. In 2005 Michael wed Kelly Jo Wilson in Buchanan. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gaertner; brother, Robert Gaertner, Jr. and step-sister, Vanessa Holmes. Michael is survived by his wife, Kelly Gaertner; children, Robert Gaertner of Dowagiac, Rylie Gaertner of Niles, Noah Venzon of Buchanan; siblings, Peggy (Chris) Moore of Florida, Jeremiah Gaertner of Florida, Jordan Holmes of Michigan, and Amanda Holmes of Florida; step-siblings, Vernon Holmes of Tennessee, George (Zena) Holmes of Illinois, Cenza (Ron) Ferguson of Michigan, and Roger (Barb) Holmes of Michigan; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and close friends. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a time to share memories at 6:00 p.m.
