Michael A. Jones, 58, of Niles passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Lakeland Hospital in Niles.
On June 28, 1952 in Niles, Michigan he was born to Lester and Lucille (Conrad) Stiles. After his mother remarried Earl Jones he was adopted and raised by them.
After attending Mishawaka High School, Michael enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country proudly in Germany during the Vietnam War.
Michael knew no strangers and made many friends wherever he went. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and was very artistically talented. Mike was known for his generosity and interest in the people he met.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Jill M. McGrath and one granddaughter of New York, three brothers; Rich (Linda) Jones of Three Rivers, Bob Jones of Shipshewana, and George (Joyce) Kirkendall of Niles, two sisters, Jean (Lloyd) Huber of Niles, Anita Vickery of Niles and several generations of nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Michael's wishes cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Faith. His family will be remembering him privately.
