Obituary of Sylvester Gross

Sylvester E. "Sly" Gross, 86, of Stateline Road, Niles, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Lakeland Community Hospital in St. Joe, following an extended illness. He was born in Niles on May 5, 1925 to the late Sylvester F. and Maybell (Harrington) Gross. Sylvester was a hard worker and was employed by Hunziker's Nursery for over fifty years. He was preceded in death by his parents and twelve brothers and sisters. Sylvester is survived by his brother Kenneth (Rebecca) Gross of Niles, a host of nieces and nephews and his family at Westwoods of Niles, who cared for him over the past five years. A time of visitation will be on Wednesday, July 20th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Niles. A private interment will be held at Silverbrook Cemetery a later time. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
