I remember Tim as Christy's Dad. The first thing I think of when thinking of Tim is his white glass van. When I was in Elementary school I just remember spending lots of time at the house with him, Diane, Brad, Christy simply hanging out at home, cooking in the kitchen, going swimming in the pool, going skating, bowling. He was around to share in those times. I'm sorry for your loss and prayers of peace go out to his closest friends and family.

Tim was the youngest brother in our family so I remember very little of his early years. As we grew older, I noticed he a passion for riding and working on dirt bikes (we could not afford anything that didn't need some work) so Tim would tinker with them to get them running better and it seemed at times, noisier.
I'm not sure of Tim's age when he went to work next door at John's Glass but that is where he started in the glass repair business which turned out to be his lifetime trade.
As time progressed, he meant Diane (the love of his life) married, had two children, (Brad and Christy) and some years later they relocated to Michigan City, IN where he continued to work in the glass business which by this time, he was very skilled at.
We would visit Tim, Diane, Brad and Christy for an occasional barbecue but it was not very often and looking back now I wish it had been.
I once watched Tim put a windshield in a truck I owned and I was amazed by his skill and proficiency in completing this job. He was all over it!!!
In the 56+ years that Tim was my brother we actually spent very little time together doing
the things that brothers do like fishing, camping, car shows and races. But when we did, it was always good quality time.
Tim you were a good brother I loved you and I will forever miss you!
Farewell Tim and may God Bless You!!
Brother Bob

Tim and I worked together at Harmon Glass. He was one of the kindest people, always wanting to help someone that needed his help. He was very skillful as an installer and glazier and took pride in his work. The best characteristic of Tim's was his sense of humor...he really made me laugh! He taught me a lot about the glass business and managing the shop. He was a great guy who I haven't seen in years, but have dear memories of him and his family. I have fond memories of the Christmas that Tim and Diane came to the shop bearing Christmas gifts for everyone. They said that they had been so blessed that they wanted to share the blessing with us. (I still have my bread knife, Diane!) My prayers are with all of you, as you grieve his passing. Praying that you will experience the peace only God can give and that through your grieving you will seek your comfort in Him. Tim was a very special man who will be missed by many. Lots of love to all of you, Juli Doyle

I grew up with Christy. Tim was like a Dad to me. He had a big heart and would do anything for us. To name a few....I can remember many times he had to get out in the middle of the night to pick us up riding in the glass man's van sharing a seat with christy, going to southbend speedway, fishing, him not getting mad when we borrowed Diane'ss car at the age of 13. But instead buying Christy a licence plate that said friends dont let friends drive fords. To him helping us get our 1st place together.
Tim was a wonderful man, and will be missed dearly.

I remember many great times with the whole family. Whether it was a fall nature hike, having a fishing contest on who caught the most or the biggest fish, or just sitting around the table enjoying Diane's wonderful cooking. He was always very kind to me & I loved to give him a big hug every chance I saw him. He was very proud when his grandson Damyn came along. He was patient with Damyn & would lovingly follow him and play with him all day long. As time passed, we grew a bit apart & didn't get the chance to tell Tim how truly important he was to us. He will forever be remembered & in our prayers. We love you Papa Tim.

I'm going to miss never again hearing my Dad sing "If I only had a brain, I would take it out and play with it, have a very nice day with it, if I only had a brain". All the years growing up and even as an adult, he would never miss a chance to sing that to me when I did something silly. I will miss hearing him call me "bug", playing checkers with him and watching movies together.
He has been a great dad but he has also been a great Papa Tim to my daughter. I am thankful to have so many memories of Addison falling asleep on Papa Tim's lap, of them watching Dora together, over and over, and my Dad would never walk away or show he was tired of watching it. He would read to Addison, let her read to him, just enjoy the time he had with her no matter what he got stuck doing.
As Thanksgiving approaches it reminds me, as it does every year, of the time my Dad was watching me and my Mom try to get the pumpkin pies into the oven without spilling. For years we have struggled on this step, to get the pies nice and full to the tippy top of the crust, then transport them from the counter to inside the oven without spilling all over. My dad walks over and says, "why don't you just finish filling them IN the oven"? We laugh at that often and of course from then on we have always finished filling the pies in the oven :)
I will miss his sense of humor, the random funny comments and just the kindness he had in his heart, so many things to miss. Instead I will try to just be thankful for all the time I did have, all the memories, and all the things he did for me and taught me.

Growing up my Dad took me to the race track and car shows a lot which is something I have always enjoyed and had in common with my Dad. I remember when we would stop at garage sales or side-of-the-road sales for lawn mowers, buy them, bring them home, take off the cutting deck and then we would end up having tractor pulls in the back yard.
We had fun but he also taught me many of the mechanical skills I use today. All the times I watched him tear apart motors growing up, as I got older I appreciated all that I learned from watching and helping him. Many of the things he taught me were to make me not have to rely on others. Be able to do more for myself and teach me skills useful every day, even how to snag a fish if I needed so I would always be able to eat.
One of my more recent favorite memories is when my Son would drag Papa Tim around by the hand when he was a little younger, Papa Tim lets play hot wheels, watch a show, do this, then that...my Dad would just follow him like a shadow and do whatever Damyn wanted to do for hours. He just enjoyed spending time with his grandson and making him happy.

Uncle Tim was a kind and caring person, I enjoyed the weekends that our families spent together over the years and christmas time at grandma and grandpa daus's house.
I remember when we (my dad Tom, and uncle Tim) went to martin 131 drag strip for the day to watch drag racing and all the stories they shared about how all of Daus boys would go to Indianapolis each year for the nationals and were lucky to stay out of jail and get back home.
Im glad we were able to come and have the cookout with everyone earlier this summer.
I remember the time that me and Brad were riding our dirt bikes around the house in Mi.City and there was some really deep mud that Tim told us to stay out of, well since he asked us nicely to stay out of it guess where we went first??? Yep straight for the mud. we covered those bikes in mud so bad you could not tell what color they were. I remember Tim washing those bikes for hours to get em clean again just shaking his head.
Tim will always be loved and remembered. Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends.

My greatest memory of my brother is how he loved to fish. I remember him talking me into going fishing out on lake michigan in his small boat with our older brother Larry.
As the day went on, the water got rough and I started feeling sick. Tim got a good laugh
at me for being sick and wanting to go back to shore, but Tim said I would be ok.
I was actually scared of that little boat being out there on such a big lake! Tim caught many perch that day and was very happy. As for me, I was happy to put my feet back on land.
You will be missed Little Brother. Love, Tom

Tim is/ was my cousin. There are many good memories that could be shared, starting with Christmas at Grandma & Grandpa Daus'. Tim was younger than me so watching him grow up, marrying Diane , becoming a dad was a great memory. Life took a difficult turn for Gimbals he grew up. He tried many times for life to return to a normal life but God had other plans for Tim. I may not have seen him over the past years but I never forgot him and the fun we had as kids. Prayers to his family as they go thru this difficult time.
