Obituary of Starr Unique Douglas

Please share a memory of Starr to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Starr Unique Douglas was born to Aretha Green- Randle on March 28, 1998. Starr was a beautiful little girl; she was always a joy to be around. She made many laugh and smile. She was so positive in her way of thinking. Starr was never worried about her strength and faith. Starr also showed this, at the age of 12 on April 16, 2010, when she was diagnosed with cancer. Through all the chemo, radiation and trips to Ann Arbor, Michigan, Starr still found the strength to have joy. Sadly, Starr had only been in remission just months before her second reoccurrence in May of 2011. As devastating as that was for us all, even when the doctor sat at her bedside and again gave Starr this heart-breaking news, she still gave him a smile and only said one word "oh" and never once complained. Starr told her father and I, that she did understand what this all meant for her. Starr never talked about it again, but yet and still, Starr continued to do what she did best, always laughing, joking and smiling. Starr is survived by her mother Aretha Green-Randle, step-father Broderick Randle, three brothers; Bobby Smith, Steven Randle and Lucas Randle, a sister Jenesis Green, father Neal Douglas, two aunts Myneke Douglas and Cristal Brown, three uncles; Paul Williams, Ronald Douglas and Kevin Williams, a host of cousins and close family. God knows we are all deeply saddened by this loss, but God also tells us this is not the end. We must continue to have joy. 1Thessalonians 4:13-15, And it is written; "We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same was God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. For we say, this to you by Jehovah from the Lord we who are still alive at the Lords coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep." Memorial contributions may be made in Starr's name to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan; 3390 Pinetree Road, Suite 20, Lansing, Michigan 48911 or Hospice of Michigan; 400 Mack Avenue. Detroit, Michigan 48201.
