Obituary of Rosie Lee Carver
Please share a memory of Rosie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosie L. Carver, 84, of Aurora, Illinois, formerly of Benton Harbor, Michigan, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois.
She was born on November 30, 1928 in Marion, Arkansas to the late John and Bertha (Williamson) Siddell. She believed in God and was baptized.
On May 12, 1951 Rosie married Everett Carver at a ceremony in Benton Harbor. He preceded her in death.
Rosie was a homemaker most of her life and loved caring for her two children along with countless others. She and her husband were long time foster parents and was known to children as Mama. She valued most, her relationships with family and friends. Rosie never met a stranger and had a very outgoing personality. She was known for striking up conversations with anyone and treated everyone as if she'd known them for years. People that hardly knew her called her "Aunt Rosie". She always made people feel welcome in her home. She will be remembered for her kind and loving spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Garry Carver, six siblings; Lucille Siddell-Starks, Oliver Siddell, Jeanette Siddell-Vanner, Julius Siddell, Watson Siddell, and E.J. Siddell.
Rosie is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver Regina Carver of Aurora, Illinois, two brothers Frank Siddell of Markham, Illinois, Leroy (Floretta) Siddell of Mayflower, Arkansas, two sisters Willie V. "Peep" Siddell-Thomas of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Ora Lee Siddell-Fitzgerald of West Memphis, Arkansas, John Siddell Jr. of Marion, Arkansas and Samuel (Brenda) Siddell of Earl, Arkansas, along with a host of nieces, nephews, special friends and various others whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Greater Grace Temple, 660 Nickerson Ave, Benton Harbor, MI at 12:00 p.m. with a time of visitation beginning at the church at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Everett at North Shore Memory Gardens.
