Obituary of Rachael L. Boswell

Rachael L. (Dahlstrom) Boswell, 81, of Granger, Indiana passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, surrounded by her family. She was born in Texas to the late Louis and Harriet Dahlstrom. On August 7, 1977 she married Melvin "Bud" Boswell at a ceremony at First Presbyterian Church in Mishawaka, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 2007. She was also preceded in death by a former husband Marion Brant, two brothers and seven sisters. As a child, Rachael lived with her family at The City of David in Benton Harbor. She worked as a pattern folder at Simplicity Pattern for over sixteen years. Rachael also worked as an oncology nurse at Memorial Hospital, in South Bend, for twenty years. She was also an active member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Bend. Rachael's retirement was filled with busy service to her church and community. As a volunteer she delivered Meals on Wheels and flowers to patients at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. She loved gardening and square dancing and was a member of the Sunshine Twirlers and the Chain Gang Square Dancing Clubs. Rachael was gifted in all sorts of crafts including painting. Rachael is survived by two daughters Cynthia (Larry Griesmaier) Brant of Grand Rapids and Victoria Lovejoy of South Bend, Indiana, two sons Byron "Bud" (Vickie) Brant of Berrien Springs and Jon Brant of Niles, two step sons Ron (Kathryn) Boswell of Shell Knob, Missouri and Jerry (Jan) Boswell of Chesterfield, Michigan, a step daughter Teresa (Dave) Primmer of Mishawaka, Indiana, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Brown Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at 51900 Mayflower Road in South Bend at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 17th,.
