Obituary of Steven B. Riege

Steven B. Riege, 54, of Cassopolis, passed away, after an illness on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles. He was born on September 20, 1957 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Leo and Lillian (Benjamin) Riege. On August 2, 1994 Steven married Dona Norris-Gravit at a ceremony in South Bend. Steven was an electrician most of his life but spent his early years farming. Steven had many interest including hunting, arm wrestling tournaments and watching the Indy 500. Steven could also be found in his garage where he spent many hours working on cars and fixing about anything. Mostly, Steven enjoyed being with his family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Terry, Greg and Tony Riege, a sister Patricia Radics and a step-son Gary Gravit Jr. He is survived by his wife Dona Riege of Cassopolis, a daughter Brandi Riege of Bakersfield, California, a son Jason Riege of Bakersfield, California, a step-son Kelly Gravit of Cassopolis, two step-daughters Tracy (Ty) Carter of Niles and Katey Gravit of Henderson, Nevada, three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, two sisters Pam Riege of Cassopolis and Debbie (Gordon) Warner of Sister Lakes and a brother Jerome Riege of Cassopolis as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. An open house visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and will conclude with a celebration of Steven's life at 4:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home 521 E. Main Street in Niles. Memorial contributions may be made in Steven's memory to March of Dimes.
