Obituary of Robert Lee Wood

Robert "Rob" L. Wood Jr., 36, of Battle Creek, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Spearfish Regional Hospital, in Spearfish, South Dakota. Rob was born on July 7, 1975 in Battle Creek to Robert Lee Sr. and Sylvia (Smith) Wood. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, class of 1993. On April 5, 2000 Rob married Monica Russell-Hinton at a ceremony in Jamaica. He was currently employed at Summit Polymers. Rob also had worked for several years at Denso Manufacturing. Rob's hobbies included hunting, golfing, scuba diving, motocross racing, and riding his Harley. His favorite time was spent with his friends and family. He enjoyed his trips with his wife and kids to amusement parks and waterparks. Rob is survived by his wife Monica Wood of Battle Creek, children; Corey Hinton, Haylee Dotson and Chandler Wood of Battle Creek, parents Robert L. Sr. and Sylvia Wood of Battle Creek, a brother Gary (Lisa) Wood of Battle Creek, two sisters Angel (John) Arroyo of North Carolina and Heather (Heath) Orr of Battle Creek along with a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Dexter Lake Church, located at 1541 East Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek with funeral services to be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Douglas Fleury officiating. An interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Rob's memory to his wife, as a scholarship fund is being established for his children.
