Joan Dunifin, 84, of Cassopolis passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Sunday, July 16, 2017.
Joan was born on June 27, 1933, to the late Claude and Daisy (Burdue) Young in Niles, Michigan.
After high school, Joan wed Edward Dunifin Sr. at a ceremony in South Bend, Indiana on October 22, 1951.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Young and Daisy Webster; husband, Edward Dunifin; one grandson, Don Temple; and siblings, Bernice Fuller, Dorothy Pegan, Helen Binns, Claudine Schaber, and Mary Ann Fox.
She is survived by her children, Diane (David) Scinico of Niles, Debra Bowker of Cleveland, Texas, Edward (Karen) Dunifin, Jr. of Niles, Tina (Gary) Solloway of Cassopolis, and Patrick (Tangela) Dunifin of Louisville, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who all lovingly referred to her as "GG"; sister, Jean (Robert) Taylor of Niles and many extended family members.
In keeping with Joan's wishes, she has been cremated and her family will be remembering her at a graveside service on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Prospect Hill Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
