Obituary of Alice Ann Lekarczyk

Alice A. Lekarczyk, 72, of Dowagiac, passed away peacefully, at her residence, following an illness on Wednesday, November 9th, 2011.
She was born on June 4, 1939 in Dowagiac to the late Walter and Frances (Kopaceski) Kafka.
On October 10, 1959 Alice married Eugene Lekarczyk at a ceremony in Dowagiac.
Alice was a homemaker most of her life and loved cooking, crocheting, sewing, knitting and shopping. She was also a lifelong Notre Dame Fan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three sisters; Helen Grams, Anna Lamenski and Stella Edwards.
Alice is survived by two sons Alan Lekarczyk of South Bend and Todd Lekarczyk of Purdy, Missouri, four grandchildren; Marissa and Riley Lekarczyk of Cassville, and Kristina and Zachary Lekarczyk of South Bend, a brother Edward (Annie) Kafka of Coloma, three sisters; Francis Krause of Chicago, Illinois, Polly Woztysiak of South Bend and Jeanie (Joe) Schonbok of Dowagiac.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19th 2011 at noon at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel 61453 M-51 in Niles.
Memorial contributions may be made in Alice's memory to Southern Care Hospice 4341 S. Westnedge Ave, Ste 2100 Kalamazoo, Michigan 49008 or to National Osteoporosis Foundation 1150 17th Street NW Suite 850 Washington, DC 20036.
