Obituary of James E Vaughn

James E. Vaughn, Sr. March 7, 1935 January 23, 2012 James E. Vaughn Sr., 76, of Niles, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, January 23, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 7, 1935 in Niles to the late Emerson and Cleo (Skinner) Vaughn. On June 29, 1957 James married Joyce Pointer. A truck driver most of his life, many remember James as the friendly face at Plaza Restaurants. While his wife made sure everyone was fed, James shared in friendship with all those who came in. James enjoyed watching NASCAR and attending the races at Brooklyn. He also enjoyed camping up north with his family and enjoyed riding anything on wheels, from motorcycles to quads to eighteen wheelers. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son James Vaughn Jr., a daughter-in-law Kim (Lintz) Vaughn, a granddaughter Lisa Boersma, and two great-grandchildren. James is survived by his wife Joyce Vaughn, three sons; Danny (Kathy) Vaughn, Mike Vaughn, Tom (Ellen) Vaughn, a daughter Shelly (Bob) Boersma, a sister Lila Joy (James) Bond all of Niles, fourteen grandchildren and twenty eight great-grandchildren. His family and friends will gather on Sunday, January 29th, 2012 at 2:00p.m. at the Bell Building located at 305 N. 3rd Street in Niles for a remembrance luncheon.
