Obituary of Benjamin John Hendershott

Benjamin Hendershott Sr., 79, of Niles, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Benjamin Hendershott Sr. was born on November 4, 1932 in Niles, Michigan to the late Harold Lewis and Rosa (Stuber) Hendershott.
After graduating from High School, Benjamin worked for the Kawneer Corporation and retired from Michigan Highway Department of Transportation. He was a life long member of the Edwardsburg Conservation Club, Sons of the American Legion, North American Hunting Club, Associate member of Fraternal Order of Police, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Associate Citizen of Michigan Sheriffs Association, Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Benjamin John Hendershott Jr., and brother Harold Hendershott.
Benjamin is survived by two daughters, Betty (Marty) Pace of Edwardsburg and Brenda Owens of Nappanee, Indiana, a sister, Rosemary Jones of Tekonsha, Michigan, 6 grandchildren; Benjamin John Ballge, Nicholas Ryan Pace, Cassandra (Rob) French, Ian Michael Owens, Isaac James Owens and Brendan Jon Volk, 1 great-grandchild Aiden Elizabeth French and his significant other Sonja Hover.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Benjamin's memory to the American Legion Home for Veterans; 5500 Armstrong Road; Battle Creek, Michigan.
