Obituary of Lorna Matilda Jweihan

Lorna Jweihan, 61, of Niles passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles following a brief illness on Friday, April 21, 2023.

 

Lorna was born on April 30, 1961, to Lonnie Herman and the late Maybell (Ralph) Herman.  After graduating from Niles High School in 1979, Lorna went on to study at Northern Michigan University and ultimately earned her Bachelors of Arts from Bethel University. Lorna found great enjoyment in attending live concerts, taking the wheel for spontaneous road trips, and spending time with her beloved family.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Maybell Herman; and sister, Lee Starr Herman.

 

Lorna is survived by her daughter, Aiya (A.J.) Reed of Stevensville, Michigan; father, Lonnie Herman of Niles; siblings, Loretta Robbins of Pinebluff, North Carolina, Lani Herman of Niles, and Stephen (Shanna Lamberton) Herman of Niles; and many extended family members and close friends.

 

A memorial gathering will take place on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Niles.

Lorna will be remembered for her sense of humor, intrepid spirit, love for a wide range of music, and her unrelentless commitment to her family.
