Q: What will you never forget about Danny?
A: Dan was always happy, joyful, and positive no matter the situation. I worked with Dan for 21 years and in all those years we remained great friends. He will be missed..

I've known Danny all my life. In that time I have always seen him with a smile on his face. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Always hospitable to everyone he met. Always positive never negative. When life gave him lemons he truly made lemonade. I remember when he lost his leg he didn't lay around feeling sorry for himself he got up and kept on going. And he used his experience to help others. We were in service after that and a brother from another congregation he had never met had lost his leg and was having issues with his prosthetic. Dan heard and went over to be of assistance to encourage him. I remember him taking off his own prosthetic to show him how it fit. I was mesmerized by the love and compassion he had for this person he had never met!! What a gift we all had in knowing him and what a loss we all feel now. But what a joy we will all have in the ressurection when we will be able to welcome him back!!!!

Dan was a genuine as they come. He and Becky made my husband and I feel like family. It meant more to us then they knew.
His knowledge of Jehovah and his love for him was outstanding. He would talk to any one about Jehovah and his purpose for man. When we would go in early bird field service (3am-7am) working the Hotels and business open 24/7 we always give him a bad time about baptizing them in one sitting.
We enjoyed playing cards with Dan and Becky. He will be missed, but I plan on working hard to be there on the other side and welcome him back. We love you Becky and we are here if you need us. Love the Balcoms

Danny and Becky opened their home to us every Friday night to a competitive game of Rook or Nertz. I would sit and watch around the table until I could once sit at one of the famous chairs on the smith home to battle out the last card to hit the stack and yell “Nertz”
While eating yummy snacks and hot pickles ( which Danny knew I was a pickle lover) he always figured out a way to get me to try his new hottest pickle recipe that he had brewing for weeks ! It about spiced your mouth out but they were very good!
I will always remember Danny being very hospitable and always smiling and cracking jokes ! He was a very positive remodel in my life to make me happy when our family was going through some of the toughest times! You always knew things would be better after a Friday night at the Smith’s ! Thank you Danny for all your life’s hard work and service to Jh , we can’t wait to see you again with no more pain or sickness in the new Paradise earth soon to come! Your adventure is not over , just a short pause until we hit the continue for the real life!
With Love -

I will always have fond memories of playing cards with uncle Danny. He always played with a lot of gusto! He was a lively and warm person who will be missed. I will also miss the spiritual conversations he would have, especially about prophecy or the future. He always had an interesting point of view that made you think.

Danny left an impression on me and my family because we have no negative memories of him! He was genuinely kind, positive, loving, fun, and generous. Any guidance he gave was done in a constructive, loving manner. He took an interest in each family member and made us all feel loved. Our family was fortunate to have him in our lives for over 46 years, and we will miss him until we see him again in Jehovah’s restored earth where he’ll again joyfully live life exuberantly. ❤️

The memories I hold of Danny are not as specific as they are general. When I think of Uncle Danny, I think of all the good times I spent at his house playing cards, eating big turkey dinners, or even the occasional sleepover- the kind where you stay up all night watching tv and having fun. As a kid, going to the Smith’s house meant we were going to have a good time, with Uncle Danny being right in the center of all the fun. As I got older, going to the Smith’s house meant even more- it showcased just how generous and hospitable Uncle Danny was.
I remember after I got married, Danny finally had a chance to meet Tyler. Once he got to know Tyler a little better, every time we would get together, Danny would lean over to me and say, “You picked a good one.” It always made me so proud. He had a way of knowing what to say to make someone feel good. I am so thankful to have grown up with such a great uncle.

Danny was a special friend since 1965 or before . I look forward to seeing him in the resurrection of those other faithful brothers along with Mom & Ritalee. He was like a brother to me as well as a spiritual brother. I am so sorry for such a loss. His spiritual knowledge & devotion to serving Jehovah is something to keep as an example for us.

My father figure and I am going to miss him so very deeply for the rest of this life. In a letter he wrote to me "Just remember-It will soon all come to an end & we can help turn the earth into paradise. Jimmy & Grandma will be there waiting for us to find them". Rest in peace until that time. Love you always.
