Karen and I had been friends since we were 5. When we went to Michigan State University, I would ride my bike up to the State of Michigan library to do genealogical research. One day, I went to see Karen---very excited---telling her of 2 huge volumes on the Kellogg family. A few days later, we went to the library and had her line traced back to 1750 in Somers, Connecticut. I said, "OMG, the Meachum family goes back to Somers.
A little more research showed Samuel Meacham and Moses Kellogg lived on the same in Somers AND Samuel Meacham was a member of Moses Kelllogg's regiment in the Revolutionary War. What fun we had learning about our families!!
