Obituary of Calvin Gerald Davis

Calvin G. Davis, 85, of Dowagiac passed away at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles on March 14, 2023, following a brief illness.

He was born on April 13, 1937 in Leachville, Arkansas to the late Marion and Audie P. (Lyttaker) Davis. Calvin’s mother Audie passed away while he was very young and was also raised by his step-mother, Lorene Davis.

Calvin enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country proudly, receiving an honorable discharge. Upon returning to civilian life, Calvin became a master electrician and owned and operated Davis Electric for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Marion and Lorene Davis; his mother, Audie Patricia Davis; a daughter, Barbara Jean Davis and siblings, Elsie Mae Mather, Lawanda Formon and Melvin Davis well as a son-in-law, Rex Clark.

Calvin leaves to cherish his memory, longtime companion of 21 years, Lula Edwards; his daughters, Vickie Clark of Bonham, Texas, Patricia (Billy) Carpenter of Leachville, Arkansas and Karen Brown of Lufkin, Texas; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Davis, Frances Bowman, Danny (Judy) Davis, Allen (Karen) Davis, Jackie (Rhonda) Davis and Myron (Mary) Davis all of Paragould, Arkansas and Bonnie Sue Pava.

Funeral services will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould, Arkansas on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with a time of visitation beginning one hour prior. An interment will follow at Cardwell Cemetery in Cardwell, Missouri with Full Military Honors.
