Obituary of William Michael Tomory

William Tomory, 80, of Niles, passed away at Cass County Medical Care Facility February 16, 2023 following an illness.

William was born on July 24, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Ernest and Marie (Borowy) Tomory.

In Chicago, Illinois, William wed Phyllis Cepek on June 10, 1967. He received his Ph.D in English, taught in Colorado and Georgia and then came to Southwestern Michigan College to serve as Chairman of the Communications and Humanities Department and to teach English and Speech.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Tomory of Niles; children, Steven (Annette) Tomory of Valparaiso, Indiana and Gregory Tomory of Niles; brother, Michael Tomory of Naperville, Illinois; grandchildren Andrew and Emma Tomory of Valparaiso, Indiana and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

No services are planned.  The family will gather privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease at P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
