Obituary of Betty Lou Bennett

Betty L. Bennett, 89, of Marietta, Georgia, formerly of Niles, passed away on January 24, 2023, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

On October 30, 1933, Betty was born in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to the late Willie and Imo (Chastain) Pickrum.

Betty was employed at Simplicity Pattern Company in Niles for twenty years. She was a member of the Niles Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, macramé and spending time with her family was her greatest joy.

Those welcoming Betty to her eternal home is her parents; her loving husband, Preston Bennett Jr.; a brother, Jesse Pickrum, and a grandson, Randy J. Bennett.

Surviving Betty are her two children, David (Donna) Bennett of Marietta, Georgia and Randy (Laura) Bennett of Springfield, Missouri; a grandchild, Michael (Stephanie) Bennett of St. Johns, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Presleigh Bennett of St. Johns, Florida; sister-in-law, Julia Pickrum of Cumming, Georgia; nieces, Cara Chapman and her daughter, Emily, and Rebecca (Chad) Smith and her sons John, Ryan, and Aiedan.

Funeral Services for Betty will take place at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel at 61453 M51 in Niles on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with a time of visitation beginning at Noon. Immediately following the funeral service, Betty will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, alongside her husband.
