Obituary of Trent Nichols

Trent Duane Nichols, 58, of Niles passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Michigan.

He was born on June 13, 1964, in Elkhart, Indiana. Trent grew up in Niles, where he went to school and worked.

Trent married Jodie Moody on August 12, 1995, in Niles, Michigan. When they married, he also gained two daughters that he raised as his own.

He enjoyed playing rock and roll on his guitar.  You would often find him fishing or hunting in his free time. Most recently he had taken up whittling, he was self-taught, and created anything that came to mind. Trent was a big Notre Dame fan. His grandson, Kaiden was the apple of his eye, they loved spending time together.

Trent leaves behind his devoted wife, Jodie Nichols of Niles; his mother, Judith Stewart of Niles; father, William (Mary) Nichols III of Niles; sons, Steven Zick of Mishawaka; Jimmy Nichols of Niles; daughters, Autumn Moody of Niles; Amber (Caleb) Spangler of Galien; grandson, Kaiden Spangler, siblings, Billie Nichols of Niles, and William (Amanda) Nichols IV of Grand Rapids; along with several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Trent’s wishes, cremation has taken place and his family will be remembering him privately.
