Obituary of John Harlan Hartman

John Harlan Hartman, 74, of Buchanan, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his wife and daughter.

He was born on December 4, 1948, to the late Lester and Charlette (Laudenschlager) Hartman, in Niles Michigan.

On November 26, 1968, John enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served his country proudly, during the Vietnam War, receiving his honorable discharge in 1970. At a ceremony in Niles on May 7, 1977, John wedded Becky (Gustafson) Hartman. John worked at Tyler Refrigeration of Niles for thirty-eight years until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Amy Hartman; and two siblings; Leslie Overmyer, and Dean Hartman.

 Surviving John is his wife of forty-five years, Becky Hartman of Buchanan; children, Ryan (Michelle) Hartman of South Bend, Crystal (Derrick) Dorton of Buchanan; brothers, Donald (Carol) Hartman of Niles, Michael (Renee) Hartman of Niles, along with four grandchildren.
