Obituary of Charles Edgar Roberts

Charles “Chuck” E. Roberts, 84, of Buchanan, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.

On a hot summer day, Wyman and Dorothy (Styles) Roberts welcomed their son, Charles Roberts on July 19, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana.

Chuck graduated from Riley High School in 1956, then went on to achieve an associate’s degree in arts. On June 24, 1977, at a ceremony in California Chuck married Marjorie “Marge” E. Norris.  He pursued a career in manufacturing, where he later went on to become the owner of C & M Manufacturing, in Buchanan. Chuck was a perfectionist and often showed it on the golf course, as he would spend countless hours working on his swing until his shots were excellent. Chuck was known for his warm smile, and his ability to make those around him laugh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wyman and Dorothy Roberts.

Surviving Chuck is his wife of forty-five years, Marge Roberts of Buchanan, and his children, Kelly Carpenter, Kurt Roberts, and Kari (D.E.) Felkin all of California; step-children, Richard (Betty) Roberts of Buchanan and Jason Roberts of South Bend; a sibling, Barbara (Tony) DeBruyn of Canada. He will also be missed by a host of grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Chuck’s wishes, his family will gather privately to celebrate his life.
