Stanley Stasiak, 79, of Niles passed away at his home on Saturday, April 14, 2012 with his family by his side.
Stan was born on December 7, 1932 to the late Andrew and Jennie (Kafka) Stasiak at home in Dowagiac, Michigan. He was one of nine children.
After graduating from Eau Claire High School, in 1950, Stan enlisted in the United States Army and graduated from Army Engineering School in 1953. On July 2, 1971 Stan wed the love of his life Beverly.
Stan was known by many as "Jaja". He loved Notre Dame football, going to Florida for the winter and also reading books to his grandchildren.
Stan is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Casimer, Edmund, Walter, Frank and Leo Stasiak and sisters Stella Kozelka, Betty Slack and Mary Stasiak.
He is survived by his wife, Bev, children Robert Dickens of South Bend, Patricia (Gary) McCaslin of Niles, Kim (Stacy) Coleman of Avon, Indiana and Billie Sue (Brett) Demond of Fennville, Michigan, grandchildren Lawton, Heather, Justin, Cassie, Hannah, Ashley, Rachel, Joshua, Chelsea and Ryan and 10 great grandchildren.
The family has requested that no flowers be sent. Those wishing to make memorial donations may do so to the family.
