Obituary of Gale Ilene Deitrich

Gale Ilene Deitrich, 79, of Niles, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Gale was born on February 15, 1943, to the late Lloyd and Margaret (Orrick) Barnes in Niles, Michigan.  After graduating from high school Gale wed the love of her life, Lawrence Deitrich.  Together the two had two children, Traci and Bryan.  Gale’s family was the most important thing in her life.  When she was younger Gale loved to craft, she enjoyed crocheting, making ceramics and floral arrangements.  She was also a wonderful artist.  Her children will think of her every time the show Gunsmoke comes on because she religiously watched it at home. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lawrence who passed away in July of 2013.

Gale is survived by her children, Traci (Frank) Toth and Bryan Deitrich both of Niles; grandchildren, Melissa (Jason Quist) Hunsberger, David (Jessica) Hunsberger, and Brittany (Zach Wray) Deitrich; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and close friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 521 E. Main St, Niles, followed by a graveside service at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
