Obituary of Richard Leigh Gorham

Richard Gorham, 84, of Cassopolis, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side.
Richard was born on June 22, 1927 in Cassopolis to the late Mark and Eileen (Halladay) Gorham.
After graduating from Cassopolis High School he joined the United States Navy in 1945. Richard retired from Midwest Energy as a purchasing agent.
On July 18, 1954 Richard married the love of his life Carolyn (Poe) Gorham at a ceremony in Jones, Michigan.
He enjoyed walking, reading western books, traveling, Michigan football, Detroit Tigers baseball and most of all spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roger and Donald Gorham and a sister Ann Sattelmaier.
Richard is survived by his wife, two daughters, Susan (Wendell) Simmons and Cindy (Scott) Peters both of Cassopolis, four grandchildren; Monica (John) Kennedy of Cassopolis, Greg Peters of Cassopolis, Seth Simmons of Denver, Colorado and Kara (Dan) Lewis of Mishawaka, great-granddaughter Isabel Kennedy, brother Larry (Donna) Gorham and sister Marcelene Gorham both of Cassopolis.
