Obituary of Robert Wayne Deeds
Robert W. “Bobby” Deeds, 62, of Buchanan passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at his sister’s home.
He was born on July 26, 1960, to the late Alfred and Hazel (Mason) Deeds in Buchanan, Michigan.
On August 11, 1978 Bobby married Debra Ford in Buchanan, Michigan and were happily married for forty-two years, before her passing on July 24, 2020.
Bobby was an amazing father, grandfather, and family man. He loved family get togethers. He enjoyed playing softball, watching the races, visiting the casino, or just relaxing watching lifetime movies. Bobby’s personality was second to none, he was quick with a joke, or a tease, anything to make you laugh. During the spring and summer, he would cheer on his Chicago Cubs, and in the fall, he faithfully rooted on the University of Michigan Wolverine’s.
Bobby worked as a custodian in the Buchanan Schools, the students all loved him, and he was affectionately known as “Mr. Deeds”. He also spent several years working at the casino in New Buffalo.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Debra, daughter Kari Deeds, brother Fred Deeds, and his parents.
Bobby is survived by his daughter Jodi Deeds of Buchanan; seven grandchildren, Keith Clark, Kaysha Deeds, Kalem Clark, Buddy Deeds, Kyla Bradshaw, Katarah Deeds, Brylen Deeds; four great grandchildren, Kaniyah Marbley, Kinzlee Harris, Kaelani Carroll, Karver Clark; and baby boy Harris on the way; Naomi Pierce of Buchanan; Bonnie Cleary of Florida; Alfred (Eunice) Deeds of Buchanan; Eilene (Fred) English of Arkansas; Luella Witzke of Florida; Richard (Julie) Deeds of Buchanan; Vickie Witt of Buchanan; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle, 945 Chippewa Street, Buchanan, Michigan, with a time of visitation held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
Memorial contributions in Bobby’s memory may be directed to his daughter Jodi, to assist with his final expenses.
