Obituary of Carolyn Sue Brown

Carolyn Brown, 62, of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectedly, of natural causes on Monday, October 4, 2022 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.

Carolyn was born on November 2, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas to the late Luther James and Ruby Imogene (Parker) Chadwick.

Carolyn graduated from High School and was currently employed in customer service at Meijer in Battle Creek. She was a member of Overflow Church in Battle Creek and assisted in various capacities. Carolyn enjoyed listening to music, going on trips and found time with her family to be her passion.

On October 16, 1982 Carolyn married Bruce Alan Brown at a ceremony in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Luther J. Chadwick; her husband, Bruce A. Brown; a step-father, Ronald Finney and a step-mother, Alma Chadwick

She is survived by her mother, Ruby Imogene Finney of Battle Creek; children, Sarah (Brian) Johnston of St. Joseph, Michigan and Joshua Brown of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Noah and Levi Hadley of St. Joseph and Emi Brown of Collierville, Tennessee; a sister, Sharon Powell of Battle Creek; a brother, Larry (Ann) Chadwick of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee as well as her in-laws (Bruce’s family) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. with a time of visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Overflow Church in Battle Creek with Pastor Jeff Davis officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn’s memory to Overflow Church, 3515 West Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek, Michigan 49037.
