Obituary of Yasmeen Leeah Scott

Yasmeen “Yahyah” L. Scott, 18, of Niles, passed away tragically, at her residence on September 20, 2022.

She was born on August 5, 2004 in Elkhart, Indiana to Kyle S. Scott and Krystal N. Martin.

Yasmeen was employed at La Quinta Inn and Suites in South Bend. Yasmeen recently was able to attend a couple concerts and loved it.   She was just starting to come out of her shell and open up.  She also looked forward to going to amusement parks. She looked forward to spending time with her mother and brother, and just hanging out with friends.  Yasmeen enjoyed having her nails and hair done and had an amazing lip gloss collection. She was an amazing friend to many and will be remembered for the way she looked out for others.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Sidney Lowe.

Yasmeen is survived by her mother, Krystal N. Martin of Niles; her father, Kyle S. Scott of South Bend; maternal grandmother, Jay Lowe of South Bend; Paternal grandparents, Harold Nelson and Joyce Copley of Cassopolis; her siblings, Kyle Scott Jr. of Niles and Aleigha Scott of South Bend, Joanna Morales of Paw Paw, Cierra Leeann of Elkhart; aunts, Carrie Lowe (Troy Scott) of Elkhart, Monica Lowe of Elkhart, Nicole Burns of South Bend and Tamisha Carroll (Lavonta Henry) of South Bend; uncles, Brad and Stevie Burns of Buchanan, Russell Cornwell (Stephanie Thomas) of South Bend, Indiana and Harold Matthews. She will also be missed by her adopted by love brothers and sister, Tierria Anderson, Preston Smith of Decatur and Jaylen McMorris of Niles as well as a host of countess friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a time of visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m.
