Obituary of Richard Clark O'Day

Richard “Coach” C. O’Day, 74, of Niles, peacefully passed away at home with his wife by his side on September 14, 2022.

On November 20, 1947, Dick was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph and Beverly (Clark) O’Day.

Dick's life revolved around two of his "loves": Radio and Basketball. He spent 30+years in both.  Basketball was not a job for him; he loved the sport.  Throughout his whole coaching career Dick touched more lives than he knew. 

Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Beverly (Clark) O’Day.

Surviving him includes his wife of twenty years, Carol O’Day; granddaughter, Rhianna Lynn Armstrong; generations of athletes he coached; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Coach’s family will be hosting a gathering at the VFW located at 1307 E. Jefferson Blvd. in Mishawaka from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with military honors at 5:45 p.m. on October 29, 2022.
