Cora L. Bogart, 83, of Dowagiac, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Miller’s Assisted Living in Dowagiac.

                                             

She was born in Dowagiac, Michigan on January 20, 1939, to the late Harold and Theresa (Zeisman) Myers.

 

Cora was united in marriage on October 9, 1955, to Everett Bogart.  

 

Cora was a stay-at-home wife and mother; she loved caring for her home and her family. She enjoyed keeping her mind sharp by doing word searches, puzzles, and coloring books. In her free time, you would often find her spending time with her best friend Rosemary.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett Bogart; brothers Orlo, Orville, Earl, and Bob Myers; sister, Alma Sirrine, and a granddaughter, Nicole Ward.

 

Cora is survived by her children, Shirley (George Heroy) Hunt of Cassopolis; Ed (Jan) Bogart of Kalamazoo; Michael (Dawn) Bogart Sr. of Mattawan; Carol (Randy Pelikan) Ward of Kalamazoo; Joyce (Richard Moore) Bogart of Mattawan; three grandchildren, David (Krystal) Ward, James Bogart, Michael Bogart Jr., three great-grandchildren, David, Karmen, and Kenia Ward, sister, Debbie (Mark) Myers-Shugars of Decatur.

 

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Hamilton Cemetery in Decatur.
