Obituary of Robert A. Cottrill

Robert A. Cottrill, 71, of Niles, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Hospital in St. Joe., surrounded by his family. He was born on March 25, 1942 in Big Rapids, Michigan to the late Orville L. and Marjorie (Young) Cottrill. Bob attended Niles High School and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a butcher with Peel's Supermarket for a number of years and continued on with them after the business was purchased by Harding's Friendly Market and continued to work until the time of his death. Bob and Connie (Lierley) began dating in 1978 and wed in December of 2008. He is preceded in death by his father Orville L Cottrill, Sr., his mother Marjorie Danes and two brothers Orville Jr. and Larry Cottrill. Bob is survived by his wife Connie Cottrill of Niles; children Angela "Angie" (Donald) Lierley of Statesville, North Carolina, Sandy (Glenn) Gattman of Shipshewana, Indiana and Robert Green of Elgin, Texas; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren and siblings Chuck (Shirley) Cottrill of Three Rivers, Michigan, Betty (Ed) Wolvens of Rockford, Michigan, Susan Baxter of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Francis Eitniear of Hesperia, Michigan, Valerie Campbell of Shelby, Michigan, James Danes of Shelby, Dale Danes of Shelby, Patsy (Ace) Moody of Milan, Texas, Mildred Cottrill of Niles, Josephine Cottrill of Edwardsburg, Michigan and Mike Cottrill of Alabama. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the American Heart Association.
