Obituary of Shirley Hattie Hayden
Shirley Hayden, 88, of Mishawaka, formerly of Niles, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Heritage Point in Mishawaka.
Shirley was born on March 26, 1934, in Lincoln, Wisconsin, to the late Earl and Violet (Ewert) Clark.
In March of 1951 she wed Carl K. Hayden Sr. at a ceremony in South Bend, Indiana. Carl preceded her in death, passing away in 2006. Shirley was a homemaker when her children where young. Eventually she went to work at several manufacturing companies. In her free time she enjoyed working in her flower garden, and sewing. She was an avid reader. Shirley looked forward to garage sale season, and her home reflected her knick-knack treasures.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Carl Hayden Jr., along with her two sisters, Earlene Cairns and Tami Dewey.
Shirley is survived by her son Terry (Ranae) Hayden of Elkhart; daughter, Kristie(Carl) Wiles of Burlington, Washington; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Lori (Larry) Galloway of Crowne Pointe; Florence Bramlett of Sedro Woolley; Washington; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place, and she will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Garden in Niles.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to the American Alzheimer’s research foundation.
