Obituary of John Charles Robertson Jr.

John Charles Robertson, Jr., 28, of Berrien Springs, Michigan, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022.

John was born on February 21, 1994, to John and Tammy (Walton) Robertson in St. Joseph, Michigan.  John completed his high school coursework through Alpha Omega Academy, graduating as a member of the National Honor Society in 2011.  He graduated with honors from Southwestern Michigan College, earning an Associate of Science degree.  He earned a Certificate of Completion for “Pharmacy Technician-Hospital” from Lake Michigan College M-TEC in 2013.   John then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Andrews University in 2015, earning a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science degree in 2015.  While working John continued his education and was four classes from completing a Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Science degree through University of North Dakota.  John loved educating himself, learning in a classroom setting, and doing research.  As a child he frequently read the encyclopedia set just to gain more knowledge and to learn how something worked. 

While pursuing his undergraduate studies, he worked first in a greenhouse, next as a math and science tutor, then as a hospital based pharmacy technician.  Upon finishing undergraduate studies, he worked in hospital laboratories in Indiana, New Mexico, and Alaska.  After that, he worked in industrial settings in Indiana.

John was the eldest of four sons who also loved hiking and goats.   John is survived by his parents, John Robertson Sr. and Tammy Robertson, both of Berrien Springs; and his younger brothers, Dr. Timothy Robertson of Knoxville, Tennessee, Tobias Robertson of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Phillip Robertson of Berrien Springs.
