Margaret Runyon, 103, of Mishawaka, longtime resident of Niles, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital in Niles, following a prior fall. She was born on a New Year’s baby January 1, 1919 in Orleans, Indiana, an only child, to the late Dallas T. and Ethel (Fisher) Graves. After graduating high school, Margaret furthered her education by graduating from business school and worked as an executive secretary prior to having a family. On May 26, 1943, Margaret married Roy H. Runyon at a ceremony out east, where he was stationed as a Navy Seabee during World War II. Margaret was a faithful member of Berrien Center Bible Church. She was a gifted artist and painter. Margaret also enjoyed dancing, playing the piano and time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roy in 1994. Margaret is survived by her sons, Kevin (Terry) Runyon of Niles and Craig (Barbara) Runyon of Dowagiac; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and countless friends. Margaret will be interred at a private ceremony at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. A celebration of Margaret’s wonderful life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to Berrien Center Bible Church at 8830 M-140, Berrien Center, Michigan 49102.
