Obituary of Gary Thomas Murray

Gary Thomas Murray, 55 of Niles, Michigan, passed away at his residence on May 4, 2022. He was born in South Bend, Indiana on August 11, 1966 to the late Thomas Doward and Melvina Betty (Jones) Murray. Gary graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend, Indiana and furthered his Education at a Technical College in Chicago, Illinois where he became an Automotive Mechanic. He worked for several local Companies such as Town & Country Goodyear, Hoffman Brothers and Auto-Zone. Gary enjoyed cooking with his crockpot and grilling with his brother, Darnell. He also looked forward to watching NASCAR and working on cars. He was most passionate about his family and loved to spend time with them. He was preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his daughter, Jessica Darby of Arizona; his pride and joy grandson Aiden O’brien of Arizona; his brothers, Darnell (Arenda) Murray of South Bend, Indiana; and Kenny Doward(Lethris) Murray of Atlanta, Georgia; two nieces, Alanna Murray and Teala Major, both of South Bend, Indiana; a nephew, Timothy Kassa of Atlanta, Georgia as well as several great-nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service in Memory of Gary’s life will be held at Greater St. Matthews Church at 2705 Marquette Blvd, South Bend, Indiana on June 4th 2022 11:00am to 12:00pm, and light refreshments served after the Memorial Service in the Cafe at the Church from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
