Obituary of Kathryn Lynn Jozo

Kathy L. (Moon) Jozo, 71, of Hamilton, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 23, 1950 in Sturgis, Michigan to the late Louie and Frances Cora (Pikkaart) Moon. Kathy graduated from Warren Woods High School in Warren, Michigan. While she was there, she was deemed Cheerleading Captain and Homecoming Queen. After graduating, she went on to further her education at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, later becoming a certified chemo-biologist technician. She also spent many years at the Shaffer’s Bakery and Tower Automotive, where she was a press operator. On August 12, 1976 Kathy married the love of her life, John Luis Jozo at a ceremony in Portage, Michigan. Kathy always looked forward to treasure hunting (garage sales). She enjoyed her horses through the years, riding and caring for them. Kathy cherished quiet moments fishing and was a consummate gardening supervisor, making sure her husband did not miss any weeds. Kathy will be remembered for her courageous attitude in declining health and her enormous love for her entire family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Kathy will be forever missed by her loving husband, John L. Jozo of Hamilton, Michigan; her children, Tammy (Dominik) Jozo- Ausland of Lawton, Michigan, Alex (Amanda) Jozo of Holland, Michigan and Michael Jozo of Ohio; sister, Susan Knapp of Florida; her identical twin sister, Patricia (Kenneth) Millard of Crystal Mountain, Michigan; and grandchildren, Brok Ausland, Joyce Kathryn Jozo, and Dawson Goodwin, along with a host of nieces, nephews and countless other family members and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home & Creation Services at 521 E. Main Street in Niles, Michigan with a time of visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made in Kathy’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
