Obituary of Mary Frances McDonald

Mary Francis McDonald, 95, of Columbus Ohio, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away at McNaughton Pointe Assisted Living in Ohio on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Mary was born on February 7, 1927, in Hughes, Arkansas, to the late Otis Hughes and Alberta Johnson. Mary was a beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, and friend. On March 3, 1944, she wed the late Ernest McDonald at a ceremony in St. Francis, Arkansas. She lived her life taking care of her family and her friends. Many will remember her as a woman of God. In her free time, she enjoyed being outside gardening and going to yard sales. She was also a fan of Steve Harvey’s Family Feud and watching basketball. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Mary Richardson, Willie Ruffins, Chester Hughes, T.R. Coleman Lee, Otis Hughes Jr., and Thelma Glesipie; and niece, Sheryl Hughes. Mary is survived by her nieces, Alberta Bell, Vicki Hughes, and Debra Moss; nephew, Dennis Ruffins; great-nieces, Latoya Richardson, Falana Richardson, and TaMeyia Hughes; great-nephew, Isaac Richardson, Otis Richardson, Michael Mack, Etori Hughes; great-great-nieces, Iyanna Richardson-Williams, Cora Richardson, Octavia Richardson, Jasmine Richardson, Joyce Watkins, and Breanna Gaston; great-great-nephews, J’Varee Richardson, Vonqese Richardson, Immanuel Mack, Juvontae Brown, Derrick Richardson, Isiah Gaston; and many extended family members and close friends.
