Obituary of Jimmie Edison Fox

Jimmie E. Fox, 90, of Dowagiac, passed away at the Memorial Hospital in South Bend on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

He was born to the late William E. Fox and Irene (Harwood) Harvey in Three Rivers, Michigan on November 26, 1931.

Jimmie was a graduate of Dowagiac High School and following high school he enlisted in the U. S. Army.

On March 15, 1952, at a ceremony in Dowagiac, he married the former Donnabelle Sammons.

After proudly serving in the Korean war as a ham radio operator, he continued his service to the county by joining the Nation Guard. He was also a volunteer fireman for many years.

Jimmy owned and operated a Tool & Die business for several years. He loved rebuilding cars, especially his 57 red corvette.

Those preceding Jimmie in death include his parents, William E. Fox and Irene (Harwood) Harvey; wife, Donnabelle Fox, son, David Fox

Surviving Jimmie in life are his children, Steve (Lori) Fox of Dowagiac, Larry (Jody) Fox of Dowagiac, Cindy (Bill) Ruminer of Dowagiac, and Christie (Daniel) McKenzie of Niles; Twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was a very private man, and of few words, but the words he spoke where always of great value and insightful wisdom.

Memorial contributions in Jimmie's memory should be directed to the Cass County Medical Care Facility, 23770 Hospital St., Cassopolis, Michigan 49031, attn; activities department. 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 24, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services with a time of visitation to begin at 2:30.
