Obituary of Mickey LeRoy Hydorn

Please share a memory of Mickey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mickey L. Hydorn, 59, of Niles, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his own home on Sunday, April 3, 2022. On September 27, 1962, he was born to the late Terry Kosis and Darlene (Hydorn) Myers in South Bend, Indiana. Mickey was a man that lived his entire life trying to fit in as much as he could. He lived his life in a way that allowed him to do the things he wanted to do, exactly how he wanted to do them. All 59 years of his life were filled with memories shared with his family and friends. He was a loyal friend, a loving family member to many, and a man that was respected in his trade. After many years of training, trade school, and experience in the tool & dye industry, he could fix, run, and operate most kinds of machinery. His work ethic, effort, and attention to detail made him one of the best machinists out there. He was one that worked hard and played even harder. He enjoyed any kind of racing, Harley Davidson motorcycles, camping trips, and target shooting. He was also known as the pitmaster at any barbeque. The ribs he would cook on the grill were famous amongst all those he knew. Mickey was raised by his grandparents, LeRoy and Marjarie (Everman) Hydorn, and spent a lot of time with his aunt Mary. Family was one of the most important aspects of his life from a very young age and these values were carried with him for the entirety of his life. He enjoyed being a dad but what he loved, even more, was being a grandpa. His grandkids were able to go horseback riding, and shooting, and also enjoyed going to the races with him. Outside of his family and his select group of friends Mickey was kind of known as a lone wolf. His heaven on earth was in Hobe Sound Beach, Florida, a place he could visit by himself and maybe catch a few fish while he was at it. Wherever Mickey went he always managed to make lifelong friends, his charismatic personality, and witty sense of humor was fun to be around for anyone fortunate enough to have time with him. Mickey will be dearly missed by all those he knew and the memories he created with those he loved will live on forever. Mickey is preceded in death by both of his parents, Terry Kosis and Darlene (Hydorn) Myers; and his grandparents LeRoy and Marjarie Hydorn. Those surviving Mickey include his children, Keni Ray Price, Dishay Hydorn, Terri Lynn Judd, and Zane Rolf; his siblings, David Mills and Tinna Sharr; his aunt, Mary Ostrander; lifelong friend, Tim Lindzy; eight grandchildren with one great-grandchild on the way; and many other extended family members and friends There will be no public service for Mickey as the family will be celebrating in private at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
