Obituary of Bobby Howard

Please share a memory of Bobby to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bobby M. Howard, 58, of Cassopolis, passed away at Northwest Health in Valparaiso, Indiana, after a long hard battle with his health on March 15, 2022. He was born in Decatur, Texas on September 5, 1963, to the late Pat Howard and Dona (Ingram) McOmber. Bobby was a man of strength, passion, and integrity. Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, he was raised with the old school, southern values we all know today. His church and his strong faith in God helped him become the man we all knew him to be. He has always been one to stick out of a crowd, he was too friendly and charismatic to hide. From a young age, Bobby found success with the things he was most passionate about, sports being one of them. He graduated in the class of 1982 from Roswell High School and left with a legacy. He had broken multiple school records with the sports that he played, and continued to be a lover of sports for the rest of his life. He thoroughly enjoyed watching Georgia Tech, the University of Texas, the Atlanta Falcons, and most importantly, the Atlanta Braves. A lot of Bobby’s most special memories come from traveling, sports, and his family. On July 27, 1990, Bobby married the woman who would love him forever, Dawn Harris. The union of the happy couple brought two children, Andy and Macy Howard. His kids grew to be the reason he continued fighting his health battles for as long as he did. Loving them from the second they were born, Bobby did everything he could to give them a good life, full of special memories with their dad. He was able to go and see the new stadium for the Braves with his daughter, talked and watch countless hours of sports with his son, and was able to travel all over the country with his wife. One of the quirky things that people enjoyed about Bobby was his creativity. He knew how to tell a story, could come up with the whackiest nicknames, and knew how to crack a joke at the right time. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by the people he loved; his friends included. He stayed connected with some of his high school buddies and every year they would get together and golf. He wasn’t afraid to give effort to those he valued, he enjoyed being able to make people feel good and was very good at it. Bobby Howard was a strong-spirited man with the best intentions for those around him. He will be dearly missed by all those he knew. Preceding Bobby in death are his parents, Pat Howard and Dona (Ingram) McOmber. Those surviving him in life include his beloved wife, Dawn (Harris) Howard; his two children, Andy (Sara) Howard, and Macy Howard; his brother, Pat (Penny) Howard; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members and friends. A memorial gathering for Bobby will be held at the Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Friday, March 25, 2022. The gathering will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. Immediately following the memorial gathering, there will be a public burial of cremains at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made out to Cass County Cancer Services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
