Frank “Sonny” Lee Moore, 81, of Niles, passed away at his home on Monday, March 7, 2022. Frank was born on December 28, 1940, to the late Silas “Pete” and Sadie (McCarty) Moore in Manila, Arkansas. The family moved from Arkansas to Berrien Center, Michigan and later to Niles, Michigan. Frank attended South Maple Grove School, where he received many certificates and awards for being a hall monitor and for missing zero days of school during the school year. In 1961 Frank married Sherron Owen to this union they had two children David and Brenda. In 1973, Frank married Delores Jackson to this union they had a son Geoffery. In 1990 and 2017 Frank married Barbara Adams to this union they had a son Frank II. Frank had many careers in his lifetime. Frank drove across the US delivering RV campers. He also worked several years in Antioch, California for his son at Delta Bay Waterproofing. Frank had a very charismatic personality. He inherited the "Moore" family gift of talking. He was a jokester with a great ability to make others laugh. He was an avid storyteller and Frank sometimes suffered from fib-a-itis and told some real whopper stories. To family members, he was known as Sonny. To his special nieces and nephews, he was their favorite "Uncle Sonny". He could be a pain, he could be ornery, but most of all he was loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas “Pete” and Sadie Moore; son, Geoffery Moore; siblings, Glen Moore, Jane Springer, and Judy Moore; and his best friend and brother-in-law, Shelby Springer. Frank is survived by his wife, Barbara Moore; children, David (Gina) Moore of Antioch, California, Brenda (Joe) Thielmann of Dowagiac, and Frank Moore II of Niles; eight grandchildren, Andy (Andy) Lezotte, Aaren (Brian) Finn, Alicia (Joseph) Kidd, Nathan (Sarah) Thielmann, Drake Moore, Hanna Moore, Cole Moore, and Damian "Buddy" Moore; nine great-grandchildren, Trace, West, Beau, Sunny, Dylen, Ethen, Rylei, Dawson, and Jaxon; and many extended family members and close friends. Frank has been cremated and his family will be remembering him privately.
