Obituary
Obituary of Shelly Lynn Wilson
Please share a memory of Shelly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Shelly L. Wilson, 53, of Galien, passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2022.
Shelly was born on June 27, 1969, to her mother and best friend, Sharon Welsh, in Niles.
Shelly was a bright, beautiful soul who had a special relationship with each and every person in her life. Although she struggled with illness for quite some time, you never would have been able to guess based off of her big smile and positive outlook on life. She always held her family very close to her heart. Her three children, and four grandchildren were what kept her in good spirits during the toughest of times. She always tried to give more than she received, she had a heart of gold and loved the presence of the people she knew she could trust; her mother being number one. Shelly thoroughly enjoyed music and anything music related. She followed the band “Tesla” around on tour, and religiously listened to Janis Joplin, and Stevie Nicks. She idolized Marilyn Monroe and Betty Boop as well. A couple of her other special interests included poker, horse races, and beach trips. During the week you could have found Shelly at one of her vacation homes that she cleaned for. The biggest part of her work that she enjoyed was the fact that she was able to work alongside her daughter, Roxxie, every day. Her favorite casual things to do with her time off would have been shopping, cookouts, and bonfires. Summer was easily her favorite time of year because she could enjoy her road trips, and the evenings spent by the fire with her friends and family. Shelly was one of the easiest people to spend time with and anybody who knew her could vouch for that. She tried to stay in good spirits although she was dealing with discomfort and pain on a day-to-day basis. The life she lived served as a great example of what it meant to make the best of every day you have.
Shelly is preceded in death only by extended family members.
She is survived by her mother, Sharon Welsh; her three loving children, Roxxie Williamson, Shane Wilson, and Terry Wilson; her brother, Vince Strefling; along with her beloved grandchildren, Justin Welsh, Alexis (Lexibug) Smith, Cohen Smith, and Kayden Wilson; she also has one great-grandbaby on the way.
The family will be honoring Shelly’s life in private at a later date.
