Obituary of Dorothy June Kiggins

Dorothy J, Kiggins, 80, of Dowagiac, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at her home. She was born on September 12, 1941, in Niles, Michigan to the late Gerald and Eva L. (Johnson) Thomas. Dorothy graduated from Niles High School. On April 22, 1961, she married Arthur L. Kiggins Jr. Dorothy loved being a homemaker, she enjoyed baking for her family and making sure every holiday was celebrated. She made sure her home was festively decorated. In her free time, she enjoyed sitting in her backyard enjoying the fresh air, when she wasn’t outside you would often find her working on crossword puzzles. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur, and her siblings; Gerald Thomas, Dean Thomas, David Thomas, Fred Thomas, Clarence Thomas, and Bessie Barret. She is survived by her children, Wade (Linda) Kiggins of Wasilla Alaska, Carmen Kublick of Dowagiac; Arthur (Stacie) Kiggins of Dowagiac; Cheryl Kiggins of Dowagiac; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Eva Hunt, Mary Welch, Margaret Hoese; along with a host of nieces and nephews. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
