Obituary of Harry Eugene Coleman

Harry E. Coleman, 87, of Niles passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Stevensville. He was born to the late Verne and Elsie (Flory) Coleman in Mishawaka, Indiana on July 15, 1934. He left Niles High School to join the U.S. Navy where he served for 2 yrs & 7 months aboard the USS Caloosahatchee (AC-98), during which he married Jean Weaver on September 20, 1952 in Niles, Michigan. After returning to Niles, with his young family, he worked at National Standard for over 25 years. In 1988 Harry and Jean formed JAC Custom Pouches and developed commercially sewn products until their retirement in 2001. They spent many years and developed many friendships in St. George, Utah and then returned home to Niles. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Jean Coleman. Harry is survived by his son, Steven (D’nece) Coleman; his daughter Kimberly (Michael) Sirovica, his four grandchildren; Corissa (Christopher) Simpson of South Bend, Caley Coleman of South Bend, David Sirovica of Niles and Bethany Sirovica of Niles; his five great-grandchildren, and his sister, Verna (Donald) Carpenter of Niles. A memorial service to honor Harry will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 521 E. Main St, Niles, Michigan with Rev. Mark Diefenbach officiating. A time of visitation will begin at Noon on Saturday. A private interment with Full Military Honors will be held at a later time at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
